Pildyk is the most popular pre-paid mobile card in Lithuania, mainly oriented towards a young audience.

About

Working in Nordcode company I had the opportunity to create a better user experience for Pildyk application users.

The client set a mission for our team to fully analyze and understand what the faults of the old application had been and how we could significantly improve it.

Goal

First of all our goal was to identify the main problems with user experience. We made research to understand user needs and why an application has bad reviews on app stores.

Secondly, we wanted to test our prototypes with real users in the very early stages. Tests showed some particular new angles and helped us to create a more user-friendly interface.

Process

I started this project with low-fi wireframes and a sitemap. It always helps me to present information that will be displayed and gives an outline of the structure and layout.

After exploration, I came up with few high-fi wireframes and we decided to test them. Our main focus areas were account balance, money pop-up with different payment methods and plans & data section where users can combine and order plans for their phone.

Finally, I started to work on the new user interface. After few options, I reached a point where all my assets are ready to ship. It’s time to implement - pass everything to the development team.

Solution

All pre-paid card managing features are in one place. Pildyk concentrates on every step that a person can go through in life, in one app. The main goal of Pildyk is to be the best-pre-paid card on the market and make the whole experience around managing a person's mobile data information as pleasant and easy as possible.

With modern design solutions and a user-friendly environment, we reached our set goals. Let's not forget the internal design system upgrade, so developers and future designers can work with a design system much more efficiently.

Results

With a more friendly user interface and motivating design, we changed the app review rate from 2 stars to 4.5 stars. From 20,000+ reviews users are talking about helpful information display, fast plans purchase, and many other great app features we suggested implementing.

We reached our goal to create a good-looking app design while using client brand book guidelines and most important - we solved users’ problems they mentioned during the interviews and testing phase.
